Proud to be an American driving a 2015 Dodge Charger SXT

IMG_1491I got a different kind of charge with a 2015 Dodge Charger SXT

My car was stolen recently. It was the first time in my life I had a car stolen. I did not understand the whole process until I was faced with insurance reports. Police forms. Replacement costs. Getting a  new set of keys complicated by the fact that it had to be programed to the car while it was there. Nothing to celebrate. And everything to put a cloud of doom over the holiday weekend.

If only I had activated onStar on my 2013 Buick Verano.

The robbers took strange things. They stole 36 bottles of Trader Joe’s spring water (I had not been home since I picked it up that afternoon)  They left a giant clothing steamer ($100))still in the box with the original receipt. They stole new red boots and several pairs of the patent leather pants I often wear.

They took my favorite wheeled shopping cart– the  one I always put in a suitcase on a trip. I think perhaps their M.O. was to take whatever would fit in my shopping cart. They took my gym bag with sneakers and a towel and a bathing suit and toiletries. They were kind enough to leave my big umbrella (which was very useful in the rainy Dallas weather.)

When the police found my car, I had to make a trip to the pound to get it back And then have it towed to a dealer who could make a new key. Thieves had stolen my car and then drove it until it was out of gas.

I guess that is called a joy ride and while it may have been joyful for them, it wasn’t great for me.

IMG_1441The whole recovery process took ten days and left me with an almost empty trunk and no fresh food. The first thing I did when I got my car back was go directly to the grocery and fill up. And I also had to put gas in my empty tank.

The valuable  2015 Dodge Charger SXT trunk

I rarely have an empty trunk. My car is like my mobile home holding  things I need for different activities in a day. Having an empty trunk in the 2015 Dodge Charger SXt  was worth celebrating. And since it was holiday weekend, I charged snacks and goodies to fill my bare cupboards.

Holiday weekends are the best time to shop. Because it was the Fourth of July, it seemed like everything was on sale. End of summer clearances. And sneak previews for fall and back to school. Plenty of bargains for me to fill up my trunk again. And at a base price of  $29,995 the 2015 Dodge SXT is a good value. And I love bargains and good value.

Suddenly I realized everyone around me was celebrating. Waving flags and cheering. They all seemed as happy as I was that I had my car back.

But then maybe they were celebrating the great lines and colors of the 2015 Dodge Charger SXT. Maybe they were applauding the fuel economy.  And the five year, 100, 000 mile powertrain warranty.

Safe and Secure

At a time of national security, the 2015 Dodge Charger has an impressive government 5-star safety rating.

What people said to me—mostly men—“What a sharp car.”

I am proud to be an American. And especially to be driving the 2015 Dodge SXT over the 4th of July.
